Derek doesn't waste a day

South Dakota born and bred, this full time student takes any opportunity to get out and about in the great outdoors. His love started at a young age after being introduced to outdoor adventure by his dad. Every trip they would take together was different, exciting and taught him a deep appreciation for nature. In his most recent years, Derek and his dear friend Nehemiah explored the best landscapes that South Dakota offered until he tragically passed away in car accident.

“Nehemiah was a great friend and became an inspiration to me. He also lived his life to the full and showed me to never waste a day because nobody knows how long they have.”

With this mindset, Derek is passionate about always doing something and experiencing new challenges and taking advantage of life’s little twists and turns. Adventure to him is pretty simple; get out of your comfort zone and do something you wouldn’t normally do.

“I can't stand to waste a day and this drives me to live my life to the max.”

Admittedly, adventure has shaped this young man into who he is today. Little bits and pieces he picks up along the way, observations of people and how other parts of the world work has made him more accepting whilst also better understanding himself, the world and the people in it.

“Being a part of thisworldexists is a great opportunity to further share our great world with others. This means a great deal to me as I think the more people who care about our planet the better off we all will be.”

If you can’t find Derek, he is probably out enjoying one of his many loves in the outdoors that include high lining, climbing, backpacking, camping, fishing, wake boarding, and wake surfing. We told you this guy doesn't stop!
